Two Ways to Setup Autotweets

Here are Two Easy Methods of Setting Up Autotweets

Twitter is a system that likes most tweets to be random tweets by people chattering over there network. While this is the main purpose for twitter, you can send tweets automatically if you want to. These tweets can be setup as blog posts or through automatic tweet systems.

You can use a plugin called SNAPS (Social Networks Autoposter) to send tweets out from your blog. By setting up SNAPS to tweet your blog posts for you then you don’t need to worry about notifying your twitter followers if you have a post that day. The link can be provided to your users to click and open the blog post.

Who Will Tweet for You While You’re Gone?

But what if you are on vacation or you’re so busy that you can’t tweet and you still want your audience to know that you are around? You could hire someone to tweet for you. This might come at a costly sum because hiring a person to tweet for you 24 hours a day might drain your wallet for hourly fees.

You could use a product like hootsuite.com. For $4.99 per month you can have up to 5 different accounts tweeting automated tweets. All you need to do is fill in a text file full of tweets and autoload it to HootSuite and your tweets will be automatically sent out.

If you don’t want your tweets sent by a 3rd party an alternative is to setup your own microblog with WordPress. Simply install wordpress to a directory or domain off your main domain. Be sure to tell the robots not to search this directory. It won’t make much of a difference because all that will be are sentences and links which are tweets. Do not make actual posts, just post subject lines.

Use SNAP to autotweet the subject lines. Use the Editorial Calendar to make sure you have tweets scheduled all through the month or while you’re away. Don’t be spammy or it will be obvious. Just put a few comments, quotes, fun tweets, etc. to let people know you’re around and then a link to your different social networking sites, blogs, and affiliate programs on altering days. Remember, if you tweet too many spam links your account can be banned so be careful.
