My House is Too Cold. I Need More Machines to Heat It Up

What I’m ordering: Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef

I’ll be reading this book next. I think it is a book everyone should read to get a peak of what is really happening in the Middle East and how peaceful the religion that religion that claims to be really isn’t. People really need to wake up and smell the stoning. I can’t believe that people like Hillary Clinton and the groups that support her even uplift this kind of religion. Women are treated as second class and if you’re any kind of feminist at all you will see right through the fake picturesque bullshit and see that women are nothing more than property and wombs to grow more fighting men.

What pisses me off the most is that we’ve become a country who practically bows down to those who hate us. If you read this book and you’re still supporting these people then maybe you should move to their country.

We need a new president. We need a new administration and soon.

I say we tell them to forget their oil and start relying on our own. Tell the EPA to kiss their own rears goodbye then dismantle their group and start drilling for oil here. Let people do their own thing if they want to go windmill and let the oil industry thrive on its own in America. Forget the Middle East. If they want their oil, they can have it and they can survive without our money. We’re good to go here. Send all their refugees back too. We can’t afford to take care of everyone in the world. It just doesn’t work. I don’t work to support the world. I work to support MY family and others who I choose to help.

We need a new sense of direction in this country before its too late.

Crazy Sounding Guy Cusses Out Nice Elderly Man About the Mosque

Listen to this crazy white guy cuss out this elderly Holocaust survivor during a protest against building the Muslim mosque/center near Ground Zero. What a rabid nutcase. I don’t know if this is a Democrat or one of those misguided Libertarians who don’t understand they’re saying about build it somewhere else. I’m a Libertarian and I say TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Personally, I think someone should build a BBQ pit right next to it.

This idea of putting a mosque right there is a horrible, uncaring, unthinkable idea. We’re not saying it should be against the law, but we are saying that it is an insult to the people who died there and to their families. It will be looked upon as a victory spot from people who celebrate terrorist victories around the world and that is NOT a good thing.

Do you want tolerance? Then shed some compassion for the people who died and take it elsewhere.

OPI Nail Envy Soft and Thin

As you know, I recently had my acrylics removed. No wait, let me scratch that. I went to a new lady because the normal one was going on maternity leave and the new lady talked me into getting glitter gels. Bad mistake. Anna, the woman who normally does my nails does a real kick ass job. She can do a French manicure super fast and extremely nice and even. Her acrylics stay on like the the wretched smile on Pelosi’s face. Unfortunately, Anna went to have a baby.

The new lady talked me into the glitter gel nails which would look like a permanent French manicure. They were pretty at first, but then they started to turn yellow. UGH. Then, they started to peel off! It was horrible. I wouldn’t notice the peel until they would catch on something and then they would rip off one-by-one. It hurt. It took a chuck of my nail off. I wasn’t happy. Since then I’ve been too scared to try any acrylics.

Since my natural nails suck like Obama’s presidency (ok maybe they’re not that bad), I decided to try OPI’s Nail Envy Soft and Thin nail strengthener. Today is the second day and they seem pretty nice. Unfortunately, only time will tell because the only nail strengthener that has EVER worked on me is Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails and even that stopped working as it started to peel. Some EPA nutcase must have made them change the formula because SH was the best stuff ever.

I’m supposed to do two coats the first day and a coat every other day for a week then remove it all and do it all over again. I hope it works because I don’t want to risk going back to the salon again until Anna is back.

Orly Terracota Nail Polish

Filed under: Uncategorized — geekmom @ 1:58 am

I thought I would try Orly Terracota nail polish as I bought it on sale for $4.00 at a local beauty store. I loved the coral color so I thought it might look nice on my nails.

Wrong.

First, it seemed to thick. I felt like I was putting on nail police with a thick paintbrush. It seemed so thick and chalky that I had to go over the nail several times. Not only that, but I’ve been spoiled by OPI’s wide, patented (I believe) nail brush which works on my nails so much better.

Also, the color might be really pretty in the bottle and on longer nails, but since I’ve been having problems growing my nails after getting rid of the acrylics, my nails are short. The color is much to orangey-pink for a nail bed like mine where they’re more narrow at the bottom and get wider at the top but always stay short. Bla.

I don’t know if I’ll try an Orly product again. I might just try an OPI color next time.

MacBook Pro Now a Desktop

That’s it. I’m no longer spending money on these MacBook Pro batteries. I’m not sure what the lifetime of the battery is, but I do know that I rarely use the battery. Twice now I’ve had batteries swell up to the point where the mousepad doesn’t work. Two different batteries and each were about 1 year old.

I guess this is a common problem. It looks really dangerous though. I’m not sure what the gel was that seemed to be leaking, but I just put the battery in a plastic baggy until I can find a safe place to dispose of it.

So annoying. If I *liked* windows I’d buy a windows box, but I think Windows is the ugliest thing alive. I’d use some form of a Linux desktop but I can rarely find anything that I enjoy using that works with it. So, I’m stuck with this think until I can figure out what I’m going to do. I certainly cannot afford a Mac tower and I don’t believe the mini will have enough power. The stupid iMacs I bought are both dead too and opening them is a pain.

Am I disillusioned with my Macs? No. I have twice as much problems with the lame-O windows boxes. I’m looking at one right now that is sitting on my shelf. It died. I don’t have parts to try and swap out to see what is wrong. With both the time and trouble I’d have to put into buying the parts and swapping them out I could just buy a whole new PC. It’s not worth it.

I Think the Magic in Nail Magic is Pain

Filed under: Uncategorized — geekmom @ 2:09 am

I tried Nail Magic &reg and I will never ever try it again. It made my fingers hurt down to the bone. I called them and they said it was because I had acrylics on before and to let them heal.

I’m sorry, but something should not make your fingers hurt like that.

So yes, I let them heal and I tried again. It didn’t burn this time BUT after a week the polish turned a dark gray and terribly ugly. I think when I go to the salon next I’ll try OPI. This is getting ridiculous. I want my nails back :(

Leftist Hoaxers are Slumming Again: Fake Tea Parties

Looks like the left is slumming again and creating fake tea party people. They’ve gone as far as putting a name on a ballot and trying to actually create a tea party “party” to sway votes. It looks like the left is really, really desperate for votes.

How sad do you have to be to create fake parties because people think your causes are either unrealistic, inappropriate, or downright un-American? How far will the leftist nutcases take it?

The http://www.faketeaparty.com/ site will help you determine if the Tea Party you’re wanting to help out is real. Remember, the Tea Party isn’t a political party. It isn’t a candidate running in a “tea party political affiliate” like the left would have you believe.

The tea party is more of a way of thinking. It is a group of people who want to see things change back to why the country was founded and what the Constitution is all about. They stand for lower taxes, better jobs, less government intrusion.

Don’t let the fakers fool you.

What is it with the obama motorcades?

Obama and Biden motorcades are major epic failures. Why are these people always crashing?

It’s a running joke now.

Successes? Pffft! Janet Hook has it Wrong

Filed under: Uncategorized — geekmom @ 6:25 pm

OK come on Janet Hook from the Tribune Washington Bureau as printed by the LA Times, I hardly call the legislation passed by the Democrats a success.

The failed attempt at bringing up jobs and the economy and the insane restructuring of our financial and health markets is just a horrible attempt of a hostile takeover. What they’ve done is try to destroy the country and capitalism as we know it. It’s time to VOTE THEM OUT.

Yes, Scott Brown and Olympia Snowe, this includes YOU too.

What is the NAACP Sending Out About Crack?

Are they serious?

The fundraising letter I received today from the NAACP. Are they serious? They bring racism down to the level of what type of cocaine is purchased? Instead of this, why don’t they say: drugs are gross. Just stop doing them and people won’t get arrested.

********

Days like today are among my favorite as president of the NAACP.

For years we have worked to even out the vast disparity between crack cocaine and powder cocaine sentencing – a gap that unfairly hurts minority communities. Finally, Congress has shown courage and leadership to reduce this disparity.

While the difference in sentencing guidelines hasn’t been fully eliminated, this marks honest progress toward our goal. Today, President Obama signed the bill into law.

And today, I’m asking you to join me in thanking Congress for passing this historic piece of legislation:

http://action.naacp.org/ThankYouCongress

Until today, there was a sentencing disparity of 100:1 between crack cocaine and powder cocaine. But during negotiations it became clear that Congress was in agreement: This disparity has had a hugely unfair and racially discriminatory impact on minority Americans.

As a result, the bill lessening the disparity to 18:1 passed by unanimous consent.

The NAACP supports this bill as an important first step in completely eradicating these types of legislative injustices. However, we will continue to push for complete elimination of the disparities between crack cocaine and powder cocaine sentencing.

But first, we need your help in showing our gratitude for this incredible progress. Take a moment to thank your member of Congress:

http://action.naacp.org/ThankYouCongress

Your work means more now than ever before. With your help, we will continue to win even more major victories like today’s.

I cannot thank you enough.

All the best,

Ben Jealous
President and CEO
NAACP
