Feedburner Cancelled Adsense for RSS

February 2, 2013 · Posted in adsense

I’m sure you probably know this already, but back in July google announced they would no longer be allowing adsense in feedburner rss feeds. They slowly weaned people off of using it by now allowing anyone to sign up for it starting in October then in December they completely removed any adsense ads in your adsense feeds.

Why they did this? I don’t know. I suspect a lot of bloggers use the “read more” option in their rss feed which forces readers to visit their blog instead so perhaps a lot of people didn’t even bother using it or clicking without knowing more information.

Were you using adsense in your RSS feeds? I’d love to know how they worked for you when you were using them.
